Swarms don't bother my hardened Gunny all that much, but when it clocks off I'm buggered. Same with forges. Careful use of terrain keeps me alive. Careless overextension kills me.
What's the big deal? A whole bunch of Tankers and Pilots alike are QQ'ing about OP AV. Idk wtf they're talking about, AV/V is more balanced than it's ever been, I think most Vehicle users just plain suck. If your driving a Maddy, I get your pain, but your still not getting solo'ed unless either you or your fit sucks. The only thing that Vehicle users can complain about is lack of variety, but that's about to change, so I have no idea what's going on. Balanced? Do you even tank? Probably not I'm guessing, because if you tanked, you sure as hell wouldn't think it's balanced. Yes Spkr, balanced. As in. If I'm fighting a single AV'er, I never lose. If I'm fighting more than one, I have to GTFO. That seems balanced to me... Rather like most tank drivers, most AV gunners are idiots.
Hell even I have my moments When playing.
But honestly five shot kills are doable with the appropriate AV if the rate of fire is right.
Currently must AV (even the assault forge) has sub-400 DPS because of refire delays That aren't mentioned in the in game stats. There's a full one second fire delay behind firing and the next charge or reload.
Swarms versus the new maddy? Soraya and others who have been yukking it up that "swarms are fine" are going to get buttmad SEVERELY. It's going to be harder to kill the maddies.
But I highly recommend everyone here who has an interest in HAV survivability go into the tanks thread in feedback forum and very politely request the armor hardeners be brought up from 25% to 30-35%.
After having done the math I'm pretty certain that it's not going to break AV/V balance, and it will slam a nail deeper into the traditional maddy squishiness so that when we get to heavy weapon/AV parity your choices of whether to bring a laser or a railgun, plasma or autocan will carry a significant effect on the dynamic.
And we need to have that dynamic firmly in place to slot in the AV and turret options When we get them so we don't have to go "welp, we have parity, time to nerf the (pick a tank)."
I'll cope with the gunnlogi being a pain in the ass if it means we don't have to deal with another overhaul of HAVs to make them fit, instead tweaking the weapons themselves to achieve the desired TTK.
